EVP MORSE – 3

As an Amateur Radio Operator (Radio Ham) I have a unique callsign that I am licenced to use on air. It is unique to only me, like a personal name. My callsign begins with G4, the G4 denoting that my station is from England. As we were receiving messages from people obviously competent in sending morse code I surmised that they would be either Radio Hams like myself or military and would have used callsigns.

In the first recording Alison asks if the technician can give a callsign that he used in human form. The answer comes back as D4CFX. Immediately I know this is a German amateur radio callsign. So, I searched frantically everywhere but to no avail, the callsign did not exist and was never issued.

Then I thought to myself, I wonder if he got the callsign wrong, after all, it’s been a long while since he was here ‘playing radio’. After transposing the letters, and a little more searching I found a guy called Rolf Wigand but the callsign was D4CXF, could this be him?

In the second recording Alison asks him to send his callsign again. This time he sends it but correctly. BINGO… D4CXF… how exciting !!

The question remained, was this Mr Wigand, the ‘Rolf’ Wigand I had found?
