IMPORTANT NOTE

It is very important that if you are going to edit files to make the EVP stand out and easier to hear that you save the original files.

Keep the raw original background language file, the original transformed recording with the EVP in tact, and your ‘edited for clarity’ file. You will end up with 3 files, keep them all.

Most people de-hiss, isolate the words or slow down EVPs etc for clarity. This is done with all good intentions. However, the unforeseen consequences are that you can leave yourself wide open to ridicule and accusations of trickery and faking your EVPs. So, do not throw away the original recorded files.

Technical people like myself will require the raw files anyway to do proper analysis. We cannot make sound judgements on edited / modified recordings. Of course a genuine credible analyst with an ounce of technical / research capability would ask for a number of raw files for comparison anyway and soon realise if you had accidentally given them edited files. However, you can’t be too careful.

Sorry to harp on about this point but if we are to get credible evidence out there into the wider public arena we need to follow basic analysis rules. Otherwise closed minded ‘career skeptics’ will enjoy ridiculing our work.

OK that out of the way… We hope you enjoy our research and don’t forget to keep coming back to see what’s new !!
