EVP MORSE – 28

Alison says to Noor Khan that we think she was very brave, and the Gestapo did not treat her very well.

Morse reads: THEY BROKE MY FINGERS

Noor Khan was indeed very brave, armed with only a false passport and a pistol, the beautiful and gentle Noor became the first woman radio operator to be sent to occupied Paris. She was betrayed and captured by the Germans. Despite being repeatedly tortured and interrogated by the Gestapo, she revealed nothing.

I’m pleased to say that she has finally been recognised for her heroism and a memorial statue can now be found in Gordon Square London. It was nice to see that her friend Irene Warner was able to attend the ceremony (age 90).
