EVP MORSE – 39

Alison asks Noor Khan who was the most important person to her.

Morse reads:  MOTHER ORA RAY BAKER

Pirani Ameena Begum was born as Ora Ray Baker; 8 May 1892 – 1 May 1949. She was the wife of Sufi Master Inayat Khan, and the mother of World War II spy Noor Inayat Khan (1914-1944). Ora and Inayat married in 1913 in London, at which point Ora took the name “Ameena Begum”. After living in London and then Paris, they travelled to Moscow, where Noor was born (January 1, 1914).

As a spy working for ‘Special Operations Executive’ (SOE) Noor used the nickname Nora Baker, obviously in recognition of her mother.
