In this file Alison asks Rolf how and when he died.
Looks like someone didn’t like Rolf’s radio activities and connections with USA and reported him to the Gestapo as a suspected Spy. Knowing the Gestapo, I’m sure they would have killed him even without evidence. We thought this could be Reinhard Heydrich who was chief of the Reich Main Security Office (including the Gestapo, Kripo, and SD). However, I don’t think it was him because we later found out that Rolf died in 1944. Reinhard was assassinated in 1942. Heydrich was a common surname in Germany.
